Hot Mama Summer Camp - Week 1
Aaaannnnddd we’re back! Reporting live from Hot Mama Summer Camp, we have Hot Mama herself - *Triciah walks in to loud applause, flashing lights, and glides down a walkway with a gorgeous gown and them titties perched*
SIKE!!! Whew chile! Nothing about my first week of stay-at-home camp was as glamorous as Ms. Porsha serving. But as you can probably guess, I’ve watch way too many reality TV shows and probably need to get out more.
So back to reality and why we’re here - y’all want the tea on how my first week went juggling my home camp with the boys and the 9-5. Well let me tell you, it was a lot of fun, but no lie, also very draining.
Now call me crazy, ambitious, or really dumb - but I decided to make the theme for our first week “Cooking Week”!! That’s right, we went to the supermarket to bring home the bacon, and then came home to fry it all up.
So I structured the week based on recipes and we took each day to cook something new. But before we even got started, I took a good chunk of time on Monday to go over some kitchen and cooking fundamentals (like safety with the stove and how to properly handle sharp objects like the knives). So let’s jump right on in and see how it went!
Monday - Grilled Cheese
Tuesday - Strawberry Shortcake and Beef Kebabs
Wednesday - Summer Shrimp Scampi
Oops! So I totally forgot to take pics as we went along, but just know that it was delicious!
Thursday - My in-office day. Who knows what the hubby did with them kids (Husband’s note: not a cotdamn thing).
Friday - Cheeseburgers
And there you have it, folx! Hot Mama Camp Week 1 in a nutshell!
Now for some quick lessons learned….I will say that it was a bit overwhelming at times and I admit that I might have bitten off more than I could chew starting off with cooking as the theme for the first week. Even though the boys helped, It was really me as the teacher and chef, with the boys as my incompetent (but eager) sous chefs. But we did have lots of fun and I hope I’ve sparked a love of cooking in the boys. The quality time we spent is priceless and I’m so so grateful for this week of cooking that we had. Your girl feels run down asf, but I’m proud of all of us and honestly looking forward to next week.
So tune in next week to see how what our theme is and how it all goes down. And remember EMBRACE THE CHAOS AND LET’S GET LIT!!
